Are High Aluminum Levels Contaminating the Brains of Autistic Children and if so, How?
A New Study…This is very big news and if true should cause a demand for more in depth studies on the vaccine autism debate. Thanks to researches in the UK, we may be getting a little closer to the truth. There are many parents who would absolutely vaccine their children if they didn’t have the uncomfortable feeling that they aren’t getting their questions about safety addressed.
To often, well meaning doctors ignore the real issue regarding parents questions about vaccines who just want to be assured that they are safe. I personally asked my sons doctor 28 years ago for more information about the new (at the time) HIB vaccine. I was a young mother looking for him to confirm it was safe. I was expecting an intelligent conversation about what he knew and possibly a few pamphlets to help me feel that getting the vaccine was the right thing to do. Instead of telling me all the benefits my son would receive, he turned and said, “Why would any good mother not want to vaccinate her son?” I I felt belittled and guilty for asking and really could not believe that He even responded that way.
Because I had been bringing my baby into him every month since he was born, we were up to date on his other vaccines. I thought we had a good doctor parent relationship and asking for more information would be welcomed and addressed with a short conversation about its safety. Needless to say, I did allowed him to give my son the 1st HIB dose but I was so upset, I never went back.
From my perspective, this is what I see happening with the doctor and patient relationship in the US. As long as good honest questions are met with disdain, more parents will putt off vaccines for the time being until they are satisfied with the answers. They are not vaccine deniers but concerns parents who will return to vaccinating their children when they feel they are safe and the questions about autism is settled.
