Better Cayenne Pepper Pain Salve Recipe
Here is our take on the very popular red cayenne pepper pain salve that can be made yourself at home with only a few simple ingredients. The difference with our recipe is that because it is made with the crushed pepper seeds instead of powder, the heat value is stronger and the color will cause less staining on clothing.
To make a Cayenne Pain Salve, you only need 3 Ingredients:
1/4 cup coconut or olive oil
2 tsp crushed red pepper seeds
4 tsp beeswax
-Use a double boiler or mini crock pot to warn the oil and cayenne pepper for approximately 20 minutes or more if needed. Do not boil the mix.
-You can check the oil by dipping and cooling a small amount on a toothpick and testing it on your wrist or skin to see if the cayenne pepper is infused into the oil enough.
-Once confirmed, drain the oil through a washed coffee filter, cheese cloth or fine mesh strainer into another small pan. Now add the beeswax to the oik mix and reheat just enough to melt the wax.
-Pour the mix into a small wide mouth glass jar and let cool
To use, place a small amount on you finger and rub into the sore muscles or area where the pain relief is needed.
