If you are interested in introducing cayenne pepper into your diet but unsure if you can take the heat…lol, our milder ground cayenne pepper is a good place to start. My husband use to have a strong reaction to any hot foods and would find himself paying for it later. Although, he loved the challenge of eating spicy foods at a party with friends and family, he could not get past not feeling well the next day.
We heard that he might be able to change this and so tried taking cayenne pepper in capsule form at first for a few weeks. Since it is considered good for the digestive system and high in Vitamin C, taking it with meals seemed to be a good idea.
The amazing thing is that this little experiment with cayenne pepper was a simple way to solve his previous discomfort with hot foods. We can not be sure if it was just a mind over matter placebo trick by taking small quantities of cayenne pepper or actually gave him an immunity type vaccine like response. Even though we don’t know for sure why and how it worked, I can assure you that he is pleased with the results and now occasionally gets to enjoy a hot pepper challenge with friends.
