Description
In the Hebrew language, the translation of Mandrake means "love plant" and is even mentioned by Rachel in the Bible because she believed it could help with fertility issues.
Today, mandrake root is used in small doses for ulcers, colic, constipation, asthma, arthritis and whooping cough. It can also be used to trigger vomiting, help with getting better sleep and reducing pain.
While it is considered generally safe, taking mandrake root in larger dosages can cause hallucinogenic side effects.
